“When one door closes, another one opens.” I posted about my brother a few weeks ago. He never really got a fair chance at high school football, but when he went to the University of Notre Dame on an academic scholarship he tried out for the football team. He made it, and these are the results. Dre got PT in the Spring game and gets reps during practice. I am honestly so proud of this kid and I look up to him so much, and he should really be an inspiration to everyone who was told that they would never be successful at something in life. Dre is humble and constantly thanks God for all his accomplishments. The sky cant even limit him.

Notre Dame quarterback Joe Montana attempts a pass during the 1978 Cotton Bowl against Texas. The Fighting Irish are one of college football’s most popular teams, want to continue playing as an independent, but will that be possible in the NCAA’s proposed postseason? SI’s Andy Staples tackles this question in his latest piece.

Michael Floyd highlights at Notre Dame

Thank you Michael Floyd for all the great memories at Notre Dame. Greatest receiver in Fighting Irish history. Good luck to MF3 with the Cardinals who picked him 13th overall.

Notre Dame received commitment number 12 today when Naples, FL tight end Mike Heuerman (Barron Collier HS) gave his pledge to the Irish. The 6’4” 215-pound tight end chose the Irish over three other finalists which were Ohio State, Miami, and LSU. Heuerman also held offers from Florida State, Auburn, Oregon, Alabama, South Carolina, and several others. Many felt that Heuerman was an Ohio State lean due to the fact that is brother is a tight end their but Notre Dame was his choice in the end. Tight end was a position that the Notre Dame coaching staff needed to address in the 2013 class and it was clear that Heuerman was one of their top 2 or 3 targets at the position. Heuerman is a consensus 4 star prospect and a great get for Notre Dame.

He is the fifth offensive lineman to commit to Notre Dame in the 2013 recruiting class. Montelus stands at 6’5” 295lbs. and held offers from several BCS schools including Notre Dame, Florida, Boston College, Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, and North Carolina among others. Montelus is rated as a 4 star prospect by Scout, Rivals, ESPN and is rated as a 3 star by 247sports. Scout rates Montelus as the number 2 guard prospect in the country while all other sites rate him as a tackle prospect.
